Explore Enryaku-ji, a temple complex spread across 1,700 hectares of Mount Hiei and divided into the Todo, Saito and Yokawa areas. Visit the Todo precinct, where the Konpon Chudo serves as the main hall, and see halls linked to the temple's long Buddhist tradition. Continue to Saito for the Shaka-do and the mausoleum of founder Saicho, then discover Yokawa Chudo, a red hall whose design evokes a ship.
